What are Ohms?
An Ohm is a unit of resistance. The lower the resistance of your atomiser (less Ohms), the more electricity will flow through it. Increase the amount of resistance and less electricity will flow through. So when you use a lower resistance atomiser, and more electricity flows through, you will find the following:
- more heat is generated at the coil
- more vapour is generated
- you may experience a more intense flavour (however, flavours perform differently with different resistance atomisers)
- vapour will be warmer
So when you use a high resistance atomiser the other will happen:
- less electricity flow
- reduced atomiser heat
- reduced amount of vapour
- cooler vapour
- and you may experience a less intense flavour
But on the plus side:
- battery life will be longer
- less ejuice will be used
- you will be less likely to get a dry hit
I noticed a slight change of colour, is my eLiquid still safe to use?
Yes, you can still use your e-liquids even after a slight colour change.
E-Liquids may change colour over a period of time due to a bit of oxygenation.
Extreme temperature changes or direct sunlight will make this colour happen a bit quicker.
So far as our research tells us this is a harmless process and this slight colour change due to storage time does not affect the safety, vapability or quality of our eLiquid products.
If you like you can store your eLiquid in the freezer, warm it up and then a bit of a shake and its good to go. Please make sure it's away from the kiddies.
Is there an on/off button?
Yes - depending on which vape you bought there is an on/off function e.g. using the fire button in quick succession 3, 5 or 7 times or some of our box mods use an on/off switch.
What's the most common battery for Vaping?
Some of the Getting Started vape range have an internal battery and have a USB plug for charging - look for these ones because they are easy to use. Just charge up, fill 'er up and turn on and you are vaping - easy. Your next week of smoking is suddenly less than $10 - for a whole week - really! - and you get to choose your flavour - you can thank us later.
Our other modern vaping devices use 18650 Li-ion batteries. The 18650 name is from it's measurements, 18mm diameter by 650mm high.
There are different types of 18650 battery. Some are designed for high power, others for long stamina.
What this means for you is you have a choice of making huge clouds or vaping for many days or somewhere in between, its your choice. Because we want to help we stock a range of batteries for you technical vapers out there.
Your vape may support recharging the installed batteries, but sometimes your vape device may not. In this case recharging your 18650 Li-ion batteries in an external battery charger over night is normal.
Does the battery in the device make the Vape or e-cig too hot to hold?
We only sell regulated batteries and vapes and mods from trusted manufactures. And we test them. While these devices may get warm with constant usage they should never get hot or feel hot. If you find your current device is too hot to touch then we recommend disposing of it safely and immediately and contacting the vendor you bought it from.
Do e-cigarettes and e-liquids produce a smell?
Most do and for some people that is the whole point, some vapes have a pleasant smell that resembles the taste of the e-liquid. A pleasant vape is often about the flavour.
But some don’t, some have no smell at all.
Is it safe to take my vaping products on a plane?
You must check with the airline you are flying with – as far as we know there is no law against carrying vaping products on planes, but the airline may have a policy against it.
In many cases, vaping products are allowed in your carry-on but not in checked luggage.
And pressure changes may cause your device to leak, so empty out the juice before you board, and keep it in a plastic bag.
Does vaping taste the same as smoking tobacco?
Does vaping taste the same as smoking tobacco?
All depends on the flavour of your E-Liquid. If you are using a tabacco flavour then in general it will taste similar or the same as a brand of tabacco depending on the e-liquid you are vaping. Often people who vape quickly move away from tabacco flavour to other flavours as these offer a wider or better range of tastes and flavours.
There are an infinite number of flavours available so you can replicate a tobacco flavour if you want. Quality vape gear can easily replicate smoking from the throat hit, flavour and head rush from the nicotine. If your device does not do this then – you may have the wrong strength nicotine or the device is no good or the liquid is no good.

For our own brand Move to Vape E-Liquids we expect a shelf life of at least 18 months – though they will probably last longer if kept out of the sunlight.
Is there a danger of passive smoking?
Is there a danger of passive smoking?
Passive smoking kills – but passive VAPING has so far has shown to have so few toxins in the vapour that they are mostly undetectable.
You can read a full UK government report on the safety of e-cigarettes by PHE (Public Health England) here – it concluded that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking.
What am I actually inhaling?
What am I actually inhaling?
Vapour made from evaporated Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerine, flavourings and (if applicable) nicotine. It is essentially 66% water with the rest made up of the above ingredients. For more information on this please check out our Move to Vape E-Liquid Guide.
What is e-juice?
What is e-juice?
E-juice is the liquid you use with your e-cigarette or vapes and your nicotine source. It often contains Nicotine, Vegetable Glycerin, Propylene Glycol and Flavoring. Vegetable Glycerin is a colorless and odorless liquid that is used in pharmaceutical formulations. Propylene glycol is an FDA approved food chemical used in everything from cake mixes to asthma inhalers. The flavoring is made from food-safe additives. Vapor Grande e-juice is customizable by requesting a certain VG (Vegetable Glycerin) percentage and PG (Propylene Glycol) percentage. VG has a lower throat hit, but produces more vapor. PG has a higher throat hit, yet produces less vapor. The user may also request a custom nicotine strength.
Do vaping products require batteries?
Do vaping products require batteries?
Some have batteries built-in and you cannot remove them like the Eleaf iStick Power Nano kit, WISMEC Reuleaux RXmini Kit. Other higher end products like Mods often use removable batteries. Some mods also charge via a micro USB cable.

Mouth To Lung (MTL) or Mouth Hits vs Direct Lung Inhale (DLI) or Lung Hits?
MTL is most similar to smoking a cigarette, while DLI more like the hit from a shisha pipe or bong.
Mouth hit vaping gives more of the flavour; while lung hits give more voluminous clouds.
MTL Vaping
With MTL vaping you take the vapour into your mouth first, before inhaling to the lungs. Cigars and cigarettes are usually smoked this way, so it can be especially useful for those trying to quit.
Equipment – This technique works best with tanks that use higher ohm coils, low wattage and with a narrow drip-tip. E-juice will usually contain a substantial proportion of PG, with whatever nicotine strength you prefer. It is possible to use the MTL draw technique when using a sub-ohm set-up but the vape tends to get uncomfortably hot. Restricted airflow makes it easier to keep the vapour in your mouth before inhaling. Narrow long drip tips make for a tighter draw and are more suited for mouth to lung.
The benefits of MTL are: Uses less juice, cooler vape, useful for quitting smoking, better flavour. The overall sensation is more gentle than DLI, making it more suitable for beginners and casual vapers.
Direct Lung Vaping
How – A direct lung inhale involves drawing the vapour straight down into the lung. Dense vapour quickly fills the lungs, similar to the sensation of using a shisha pipe. This draw method is most commonly associated with sub-ohm vaping. DLI gives a more intense hit than MTL, which many vapers find more satisfying but can sometimes feel overwhelming. As a result, the throat hit is more intense so levels of PG and nicotine need to be reduced appropriately. If cloudchasing is your thing, DLI is the key to producing thick billowing clouds of vapour. A wide-bore drip tip allows more air in and works best for direct lung hits.
Equipment – An optimum direct lung hit requires a sub-ohm tank. Also a juice that’s high in VG and low in PG. Nicotine levels of 6mg and below are advised, to counter the increased intake of vapour and resulting throat hit. (It is possible to lung inhale with plus-ohm coils but it’s less common as the vapour production is less and the sensation more muted). Large open air holes are better for direct lung hits as they allow vapour and air to travel with less resistance
Benefits: Satisfying - can feel more fulfilling, with the full lung feeling, thick plumes of vapour or "clouds".
This form of inhale is more risky. You need to draw quickly to keep the vape cool, and tweak your level of PG and nicotine to avoid harsh throat hits. Make sure your e-juice doesn’t run dry as a lung hit of burnt cotton is the stuff of vaping nightmares. DLI requires some basic knowledge of vaping, so isn’t recommended for beginners. Also, a direct lung hit can sometimes feel overpowering as you’re taking in more vapour in one hit, along with nicotine.
